Big Brothers Big Sisters Ottawa has partnered up with The Independent Filmmakers Co-operative of Ottawa Inc. (IFCO) on a new youth initiative, Reel Boys. The objective of Reel Boys is to introduce young boys, ages 10-15 to working with the film medium, engaging them in a hands-on creative process, by providing them with access to Super 8 filmmaking training, production equipment and production supplies, towards the creation of a Super 8 short film.

Ball Hockey Activity at Bayshore Park

All week the weather forecast called for rain on Sunday, but when Sunday arrived, there was hardly a cloud in the sky for our friendly ball hockey game!

Bigs and Littles gathered at Bayshore Park outdoor rink and split into 2 teams. It was a back and forth game with Little snipers taking their successful shots at the goalies from great Big passing feeds. A fun, active morning was had by all!

Every year, Big Brothers Big Sisters Ottawa (BBBSO) invites all Bigs and Littles from the Match Program, Meet You In School, Mentoring InSchool, Go Girls!, Bigs for a Day, and Littles on the wait list to our annual Holiday Party. A pirate-dressed crew of Bigs and Littles went on a grand ‘ol pirate ship adventure near Mooney's Bay over the weekend.

Lead by Captain Terrible Terry, the crew (Bigs and Littles) sailed out on a hunt for buried treasure that lay on the bottom of the Rideau river. Big Brother and Big Sister matches attended the annual Big Brothers Big Sisters Ottawa (BBBSO) Mont Cascades water park activity last weekend.

It was a beautiful sunny day (seriously, there was no rain the whole time!) for our Bigs and Littles who came to the water park. La semaine dernière, plusieurs jumelages des Grands Frères Grandes Sœurs d'Ottawa (GFGSO) ont pu s'arroser à notre activité annuelle au parc aquatique du Mont-Cascades.

C'était pendant une journée ensoleillée (oui oui !, vous avez bien lu, aucune goutte de pluie pendant la totalité de la journée !) que nos Petits et nos Grands ont pu s'en donner à cœur joie dans les glissades d'eau du Mont-Cascades [...]

YEHAW! What a great June afternoon it was as 26 Littles from our waitlist headed out to the country to Pinto Valley Ranch to go horseback riding!

The May group activity turned our Bigs and Littles into chefs! Monthly, we try to find activities which gather our Bigs and Littles and allow them to experience something fun, interactive and new.
