Showing Passion At Work!Posted by Jennifer Mitchell in Employment, BIGNews, BBBSO |

Tracy Moore has been part of our team since May 2008. It takes a patient, organized and dedicated person to run our Meet You In School (MYIS) program because of the stringent timelines and various elements. Over the last two years, Tracy has proven herself to be the right person for the job.
Tracy's initial interest in working with Big Brothers Big Sisters Ottawa (BBBSO) was based on the Inschool Mentoring programs, and their focus on providing mentors within the schools. "I like how the program has expanded and lead to more opportunities in French and English programming for school aged children" she says. Tracy has been the leading force behind increased outreach to French schools and running our first ever Go Girls! group in French. Tracy is also often out in our community delivering various presentations about mentoring, derived from her MYIS training to Leadership In Training groups with the City of Ottawa and high schools who are running their own mentoring programs.
Tracy feels that her biggest accomplishment to date would be being offering more choices to schools. "By starting a French Go Girls! Program in our schools and offering Mentoring Workshops to high school classes, I think that the scope of our focus has expanded, and that we are now able to show people how we can help them mentor others." With these initiatives, Tracy has showed her commitment to BBBSO's vision of all children in Ottawa having a mentor.
We are extremely lucky to have such a dedicated and passionate staff team.
