As word spreads about our current decision to halt enrollment in our traditional match program, we are thrilled to see community support for our programs.
Over the last few weeks, some of our Bigs, Littles, and parents have been spreading the word about the BIG difference our programs make and collecting donations. Thank you to everyone who campaigned on our behalf, created online campaigns and increased awareness about our programs. Collectively, Bigs, Littles and parents collected $1,644!
The winner for the most money raised is Nicole C. with $535.00. Nicole will receive 6 tickets to a Senators Game and a package from the Ottawa Art Gallery valued at $161.00. (includes a family Membership (2 or more people),t-shirt, box of Firestone Collection of Canadian Art greeting cards, Iroquois exhibition catalogue, and Firestone Collection of Canadian Art / Contemporary Art Collection book)
Our second prize draw winner is Robert D. with $95.00. Robert will receive 4 tickets a Senators Game and a Family pass for the Canadian Museum of Nature.
A BIG thank you to everyone who canvassed on our behalf!
We have also had several phones calls from community newspapers like the Nepean/Barrhaven EMC wanting to help spread the word about our situation.
As BBBSO will celebrate it's 40th anniversary next year, we are thankful to the community for it's support.
Stay tuned for more upcoming news about our 40th anniversary celebrations!
